The Holocaust (from the Greek holókaustos meaning burnt whole) was the racial extermination of approximately six million European Jews during World war II, lasting from 1939-1945. It was a systematic killing programme overseen by the ruling German Nazi ships company throughout the lands they occupied. Jews did not fit these ideas culturally or racially. The Germans were feeling anger and ignominy from their loss in WWI, and they blamed the Jewish community who they aphorism as non-German and alien to German culture.
